JProbe Performance allows you to specify which packages, classes, and methods are of primary interest to you through the use of data collection filters, and it instruments those methods for data collection.

Through the Collect Encapsulated setting, JProbe Performance allows you to control the amount of information it gathers on methods which are called by the instrumented methods. Three levels of encapsulation are possible: Full, Grouped (default), and None. In order to collect and analyze your data most effectively, it is important to understand the effect that each of these choices has on data collection and presentation.

The attached PDF explores these settings in detail, with an illustrative example to highlight the differences in each.
